Profile: Dr Fabio Brecciaroli received his fellowship in the Chapter of Palliative Medicine as part of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2002. Prior to this he had been the Medical Superintendent at Caloundra Hospital for 26 years. During his time there he promoted palliative care and helped establish the original Dove Cottage in 1996. He also started a palliative care outpatient clinic and admitted many patients to Caloundra Hospital for palliative care.In 2010 he was proud to receive an OAM “Order of Australia” medal for his services to Palliative Care.As part of his public hospital appointment, Dr Brecciaroli works at the Dove Palliative Care unit at Caloundra Hospital.He also works at Nambour Hospital. An important part of the service he provides is home visits to both public and private patients.
