About Dr David Pryor
BSc, MBBS, FRANZCR
Profile: Dr David Pryor specialises in urological, gastrointestinal, thoracic, skin and soft tissue tumours (sarcomas) and the use of highly focused stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and palliative radiotherapy.Dr Pryor practises at Icon Cancer Centre and is actively involved in education, research and innovation through his roles as the director of radiation oncology training at the PAH, adjunct associate professor at the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre-Queensland, senior lecturer with the University of Queensland, chair of the Genitourinary Committee of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), chair of the QLD steering committee for the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry (PCOR-ANZ) and as a member of the scientific advisory committee of the Australian Sarcoma Study Group.He is the national chair of a study evaluating the role of SBRT in oligometastatic prostate, breast and lung cancers and is part of the trial management group for a number of other collaborative trials in prostate, bladder, kidney, gastrointestinal and soft tissue tumours.
Special interests: Urological, gastrointestinal, thoracic, skin and soft tissue tumours (sarcomas), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and palliative radiotherapy.

Sub-specialties of oncology includes surgical oncology (removes the tumour or cancerous tissue during an operation), radiation oncology (radiation therapy), medical oncology (chemotherapy and ) hormone therapy, gynaecological oncologist (treats cancers of the female reproductive system and genitals), haematological oncologist (treats cancers of the blood and bone marrow), paediatric oncologist (treats cancers in children).
