Profile: Dr Chen is an Honours graduate from the University of Sydney. Dr Chen was selected by the Australian Orthopaedic Association for advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery. Following completion of his specialist training Dr Chen was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Chen subsequently undertook a further 12 months of subspecialist surgical training in knee and hip arthroplasty, and knee ligament reconstruction prior to commencing private practice at Sydney Knee Specialists. He was chosen as Clinical Fellow in Lower Limb Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto Canada. This followed with the appointment as the International Arthroplasty Fellow at the prestigious Harvard Medical School, Boston USA. Whilst abroad, Dr Chen also spent time in the Arthroplasty Unit at Mayo Clinic, Rochester USA. During this period he worked with leading authorities in the field of knee surgery and contributed to clinical research.Dr Chen's areas of interests include unicompartmental and total knee replacement, (minimally invasive and computer-assisted), revision knee replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery (ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery) and cartilage transplantation procedures.
