During his surgical training, he also worked as an anatomy demonstrator and lecturer at the University of Leeds. After successfully completing 4 years of basic surgical training in 2006 and being awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons England, he emigrated to Australia to be with his wife, who is an anaesthetist from the Sunshine Coast.He completed further orthopaedic training with the Queensland Advanced Orthopaedic Training programme and was awarded his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015, and is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.Charles also holds a public consultant position working at Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He is a supervisor to advanced trainees of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and is actively involved in the training and education of medical students. He is a member of the Queensland Hand Society and regularly attends conferences and seminars to further his knowledge and surgical skills to use the most up to date and advanced techniques.Charles lives on the Sunshine Coast with his wife and two children and actively enjoys the unique and healthy lifestyle the coast provides. In the past he was a keen rugby player playing for the University of Queensland 1st XV and competed internationally, but currently enjoys completing triathlons, cycling and running.
