About Dr Charles Chan

Dr Chan is a consultant psychiatrist with ten years experience working in mental health. He has a particular interest in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and substance addiction in patients aged 17 or over, using a combination of medications and psychological interventions. Besides English, he speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr Chan completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2005. He trained in psychiatry with the Sydney Local Health District, working across several hospitals during his training including the Concord Centre for Mental Health and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He has also completed the advanced certificate of Forensic Psychiatry through the RANZCP.
Dr Chan has involved in teaching medical students at the University of Sydney. He is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees. He has involved in clinical research in mood and sleep disorders at the Brain and Mind Research Institute. He had worked as a consultant psychiatrist at the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network. He is an Approved Medical Specialist for NSW Workers Compensation Commission.
