Profile: Strathfield Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Catherine Turner, Colorectal Surgeon who provides consultative and surgical services at our hospital.Dr Turner attended the University of Sydney as an undergraduate until 1996 and completed her Notaras Colorectal Fellowship in 2006 – 2008. Dr Turner completed her Masters of Surgery at the University of Sydney in 2007.Catherine completed advance surgical training in Sydney between 2002 and 2005, and her Colorectal Fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St Marks Hospital, London from 2006-2008. She has undertaken a number of research activities that have had subsequent publications in the area of pelvic floor disorders.Dr Turner is experienced in laparoscopic surgery for both benign and malignant diseases, with a subspecialty interest in pelvic floor disorders and complex anorectal fistulae. She is implementing the use of Sacral Nerve Stimulation for treatment of anal incontinence, and TEMS for excision of benign and early rectal tumours.Since her appointment as a VMO Colorectal Surgeon at Bankstown Hospital in 2009 she has been involved in establishing the Bankstown Biofeedback and Continence Facility.Catherine would be pleased to discuss your patients with you and can be contacted on Ph: (02) 9821 1611.
