Associate Professor Birman is an ENT Surgeon with subspecialisation in paediatric ENT, and paediatric and adult otology and hearing loss. She completed a Fellowship in 1997 in both paediatric ENT and cochlear implantation. Associate Professor Birman is the Medical Director of the Sydney Cochlear Implant Centre, past Chair of the NSW branch of ASOHNS and a Board Member of RIDBC.
