About Dr Angus Moxon
Profile: Dr Moxon is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Ipswich. He began his career originally as a physiotherapist. He graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1998. He subsequently spent several years in the United Kingdom working as a physiotherapist and playing rugby union.After returning to Australia, Dr Moxon completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland. He graduated in 2006 and completed his residency at Gold Coast and Ipswich Hospitals.Dr Moxon decided to specialize in orthopaedics; a natural progression from his physiotherapy and sporting career. He proceeded to complete 5 years of orthopaedic surgical training across Queensland; completing placements in Townsville, Gold Coast, Royal Brisbane, QE II, Prince Charles and Princess Alexandra Hospitals.Subsequent to his orthopaedic training Dr Moxon was appointed to the role of Deputy Directory of Orthopaedics at Ipswich Hospital in February 2016. He was then promoted to Director in July 2016. In September 2016 Dr Moxon travelled to Samoa to help educate Pacific Island Registrars in foot and ankle examination and management techniques.Currently, Dr Moxon is on leave from his role at Ipswich Hospital, and is working in Brisbane with Dr Terry Saxby, one of the most highly regarded Foot and Ankle surgeons in Australia, to enhance his skills in this field. Dr Moxon has also dedicated his time whilst on leave to observing the latest in knee, foot and ankle surgical techniques in both Asia and Europe with noted International Orthopaedic surgeons.Dr Moxon is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He also recently joined GRECMIP; an international group for research and study into minimally invasive surgery of the foot, after completing their advanced course overseas.
