About Dr Andrew Mattin

Andrew Mattin obtained his medical degree at Flinders University and went on to complete his orthopaedic training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. He has experience and expertise in shoulder, hip and knee surgery with a special interest in orthopaedic trauma.
Mr Mattin works privately from St John of God Murdoch and is Co-head of the orthopaedic department at Fiona Stanley Hospital. He also has public appointments at Fremantle Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital.
Andrew also travels annually to the Kimberley as part of the Western Australian Country Health Service, visiting Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Kununurra and Halls Creek.
Mr Mattin has an interest in trauma in particular injuries to the shoulder and knee. Working at The Alfred, one of Melbourne’s major trauma centres, has motivated him to become more involvement in trauma care and teaching, which he was able to further develop on overseas fellowships in Edinburgh, Bristol and Marbella Spain.
Andrew’s interest in trauma has also been fostered in his involvement in the Australian Army Specialist Reserve. He also has an interested and fellowships in hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty. Andrew has completed research in shoulder arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery and trauma in Australia and internationally.
Andrew has been selected by the Royal Australasian college of surgeons to be an Early management of severe trauma (EMST) instructor and has a keen interest in teaching and public health advocacy in orthopaedic trauma.
