Profile: Dr Amit Sharma completed his Internal Medicine training in Ipswich Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane. He moved to Adelaide in 2010 and worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for his advanced training in Medical Oncology. He came back to Brisbane in 2012 to work as a Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.After completing his training Dr Sharma joined Toowoomba Hospital as a Medical Oncologist and worked there from early 2013 till Oct 2015. Since Oct 2015 Dr Sharma has been working in the Ipswich and surrounding areas including Ipswich Hospital, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Mater Hospital Brisbane.Dr Sharma treats a wide variety of patients with solid malignancies with special interest in Breast, Lung, Colorectal, Prostate, Pancreatic and Renal Cancers. He is committed to providing his patients with evidence based, patient centred care in a compassionate and empathetic way. He understands the importance of communication with his patients and their families.Dr Sharma regularly attends National and International Conferences and also has a strong interest in teaching. He is actively involved in teaching of medical students. He also has a strong interest in research and has worked as a Co-investigator in a number of Clinical Trials.
