He pursued psychiatry fellowship in Australia and he was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).Dr Weeraman has over 12 year experience in psychiatry and has been working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Melbourne since 2007 and had the opportunity to obtain vast experience working in acute, sub-acute and rehabilitation teams, such as, Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Units, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CAT Team), Substance Use and Mental Illness Treatment Team (SUMITT),Continuing Care Team (CCT), Mobile Support and Treatment Team (MSTT), Community Care Unit (CCU), Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (C. L. Psychiatry) and Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU).He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist, Deputy Director of Clinical Services and Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), at Mid West Area Mental Health Service, Melbourne Health and he has commenced his new role as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Monash Health in early 2013.He has established his private practice in the Eastern suburbs.
