About Dr Adnan Safdar
Mr Adnan Safdar's scope of practice spans the full length and breadth of the speciality of otolaryngology/ head and neck surgery. He has a special interest in both benign and malignant pathology of the head and neck, ear disease, snoring and paediatric otolaryngology.
Mr Safdar received his basic surgical training in Ireland. He was then admitted as a specialist registrar in the
otolaryngology/ head and neck surgery training program of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He obtained his post-graduate diploma in otolaryngology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Following this he completed two fellowships in head and neck surgery at Peter McCallum Cancer Institute, Western Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.
Mr Safdar was admitted to The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons section of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery in 2008. Mr Safdar has had several publications and has presented papers at both local and international meetings in his speciality. His most recent publication was in the Journal of Laryngology and Otology in June 2012.
Mr Safdar has been actively involved in teaching medical students, nurses and registrars. He also has a continued interest in learning new techniques and improving his surgical skills for which he attends several conferences and courses each year.
