About Dr Adeniyi Borire

Profile: Dr Borire completed his specialist training in Neurology at St George and Prince of Wales Hospitals, with subspecialisation in Neurophysiology. He is currently in the final stages of his PHD studies at the UNSW, focused on the use of novel techniques such as high-resolution ultrasonography for the valuation of peripheral nerve disorders. Dr Borire’s research aims to develop novel biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prevention of peripheral neuropathies, especially in metabolic disorders like diabetes and chronic kidney disease. His research has been awarded the Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship, as well as the Jim Mcleod Young Investigator Award of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists Annual Meeting in 2015. In 2016, Sr Borire won the Tow Coast Association Research Early Career Awards (open junior division) from the Prince of Wales Hospital, and in 2017 the Golseth Young Investigator Award, presented by the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).Dr Borire’s scope of practice covers general neurology consults as well as neurophysiological procedures such as nerve conduction studies, needle electromyography, electroencephalography and botox injection. Dr Borire is a conjoint lecturer in medicine at UNSW and is involved with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He has published numerous scientific articles and presents regularly at local and international conferences in the field of neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. Dr Borire holds a public appointment at Liverpool Hospital and is able to care for your public and private patients.
