Profile: Dr Mackie graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He then completed a Labour Ward Research Fellowship at the world-renowned National Maternity Hospital in Dublin.Dr Mackie's complex obstetric interests include problems in early pregnancy, women with diabetes or blood pressure problems and women who have previously had caesarean sections (VBAC). Dr Mackie provides advice and management for all general gynaecological problems including the investigation and managemnt of abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain and contraception.Dr Mackie is committed to teaching and research through his role as a clinical tutor and mentor and is currently participating in a range of research projects to improve women's intrapartum care and birth experiences. He has numerous presentations and publications in peer reviewed journals.
